In Chapter 2, the good that is encouraged is for their fellow Christians. In Ch. 3 it is encouraged to be done for the benefit of outsiders.

 

Q. Why is Paul reminding us what he does in vs. 4-5?

 

He is teaching some about baptism and that we can lose our salvation here?

 

Q. Where is the teaching on losing one’s salvation?

A. End of verse 7 (hope) Verse 10

 

Q. Have you ever had to warn a divisive person in the church about anything. Twice?

 

Key theme in this chapter is "doing good" – it leads to productive lives. (be ready to do it) vs 1 (described the good God did for us) vss 4-5 (devote themselves to doing good) vs 8 (devote themselves to doing good) vs 14

 

Q. What ways can we do good as Christians for others who aren’t?
